Blender 2.48: new version of the free 3D editor

A new version of the free open source 3D editor has come out. The program has all the tools that are used in professional 3D-editors, so that, working in Blender, you can understand the basics of 3D and understand a working principle of these programs.
Blender 2.48 includes all tools developed within the work on the Blender game engine, thus, improving tools for creating animated characters, editing game levels, drawing materials in real time. In addition, it has the support of 64-bit versions of Windows, a new tool Grease Pencil for adding sketches and notes directly in the working window, new modifiers, improved text editor, as well as rendering the dynamics of the soft objects.
The program runs under Windows, Linux, Irix, Sun Solaris, FreeBSD, and Mac OS X.
