The global economy is not robust, but the PC and chip sector hopes to bring their buyers back to the market with the help of Microsoft's new operating system Windows 7. After the disappointment of consumers and enterprises with Windows Vista, they are now taking a lot of interest in Windows 7, in a hope to upgrade their aging hardware and software, as said by the analysts. The demands for PCs with the new operating system may spike in the early weeks, and Windows 7 can play a vital role in increasing the PC purchases next year. Some of the consumers are delaying the purchase of PCs so as to avoid the hassle involved with upgrading Windows Vista with the new Windows 7 and also the use of Windows Vista itself. The actual effect of Windows 7 on PC can be seen in 2010, when most of the businesses and enterprises start upgrading their PCs. Windows 7 makes the decision easier to buy new hardware as it is not a hindrance like Windows Vista was, as said by Rausch. Microsoft's new operating system provides better support for latest hardware as compared to the previous versions of the OS.
