Critical updates for IE, Outlook and Word from Microsoft
14th October 2007
Within the monthly update, Microsoft released nine patches, four of which are marked as "critical". They close vulnerabilities in Internet Explorer, Outlook and Word.
It should be said that last week Microsoft announced one patch more, but unnamed update to Windows 2000 and Windows Server 2003 have been not included in the package. It is likely, that the corporation simply did not have time to test the update.
The most important update, in the view of many experts, is a patch for Internet Explorer, closing four vulnerabilities in the browser. This patch must be necessarily used by system administrators, as mistakes, closed by it, will be used by the attackers.
In addition, it is worth drawing attention to the errors that affect Windows SharePoint product and technology Windows RPC (remote procedure call).
