Dell And Juniper Teams Up On The Datacenter Technology

Dell and the Juniper Networks have reached an OEM agreement this week that will let Dell to offer Juniper products to the datacenter customers under the PowerConnect brand.
The companies have said that they will also be collaborating on the systems for the virtualized datacenters, by using the Ethernet virtual switching chassis and the mobility application. The company officials were not commenting, though, on the thing that whether Dell will be becoming a partner in the Project Stratus cloud computing initiative of Juniper or not.

This union heightens up the data center rivalry between both of these companies and Cisco. The entry of Cisco in the datacenter blades the server business earlier in this year has catalyzed the partnerships between the server vendors, like Dell, IBM, and HP, and also the Cisco rivals in the networking and storage areas, such as Juniper and the Brocade.
Some months ago, Dell had reached to a similar OEM arrangement with the Brocade for the SAN and Foundry LAN switches. Dell officials have acknowledged some of the overlaps between the products of Brocade LAN and the offerings of Juniper, but the said customers would be able to choose the platform that best suits the data center needs of the customers.
