Firefox will become mobile
17th October 2007
Having conquered the market of desktop computers browsers, Mozilla has decided to conquer a new area. Next year, the corporation is going to release the first version of Firefox for mobile phones. To work on this project, the company has already hired two highly skilled programmers, specializing in development of mobile projects. These specialists are Christian Sejersen, who previously developed the browser Openwave, and Brad Lassey, a researcher of France Telecom.
Firefox Mobile will have much in common with the ordinary version for the PC, including support of XUL. Besides, much attention is paid to the means of transporting settings, bookmarks and other parameters between versions for desktop PC and mobile devices. The exact date of releasing Firefox Mobile has not been named so far. It is only known that it will not happen until 2008, and after work on Firefox 3 is finished.
