Glitches Are Reported As The Users Are Moving To Microsoft’s Windows 7

28th October 2009

Microsoft has unleashed Windows 7 to a great fanfare this Thursday, with many of the reviewers who gave the software giant's new operating system many excellent remarks and the marks too. But for some of the users out of many, upgrading proved out to be problematic.

Reports that have been coming in after the first full weekend of the consumer sales have described as some of the users see Windows 7 downloads to hang at the very same percentage without resuming, whereas some others were stuck in an endless cycle of reboots as they were attempting to upgrade their operating systems from Windows Vista.

One user who was commenting at the Microsoft’s Answers forum this Friday said that on the last step of the upgrade process, his laptop had a reboot and came out to a screen that was telling him that the upgrade was not successful and the previous OS files will be restored now. He further said that his laptop now in a loop of restarting and is trying to restore the files.

Digital River, the download provider for Microsoft and Windows 7, says that they are well aware of this issue that is being investigated currently. The users who have purchased Windows 7 from Digital River and have received the error message that they are unable to create or save the new files in folder in which the application was being downloaded are advised to talk to the consumer support of the Digital River.
