Gmail: now supports IMAP
30th October 2007
Despite the fact that the mail client Gmail has supported POP3 for a long time already, the access to e-mail via IMAP until recently has been impossible. Now, Google has added this feature, which made the service much more convenient for those who gets access to e-mail remotely. The support of IMAP in users account is enabled by default.
Gmail`s help system gives you detailed instructions for configuring IMAP for different devices, including Apple iPhone. The main advantage of IMAP consists in the fact that you can not worry about synchronizing data when working with several devices, since all changes are immediately displayed in the web-interface, and on any device.
