Google Android source code is published

Google has published the source code of the mobile platform Android, reports IDG News.
It is available for free download on the official website of the project.
Having published the source code of Android, Google representatives expect that very soon there will be many applications for this operating system.
In addition to the source code of Android, the developers now can download a set of SDK, subscribe to the project news and learn more about patches for the platform. In addition, the developers are welcome to upload their own code to the site of the project.
The platform Google Android was presented at the end of 2007. It is designed for devices with touch screen and is optimized. At the core of the platform there are components of the open source. 34 major manufacturers of mobile devices announced the support of Android. Among them being such companies as HTC, Motorola, Samsung and LG.
The first smartphone based on Android was presented on September, 23. It is called G1 and was created by HTC for the mobile operator T-Mobile. G1 went on sale on October, 22.
