Hackers turn on your camera and microphone by means of Flash
24th October 2008
The company Adobe has warned users about the possibility of hackers` using a new type of attack aimed at remote turning on microphone and webcam of the computer. According to the company`s information, the attack can be executed by using Flash. Hackers may compel the user to visit a malicious site and make it a few mouse clicks on it. Despite the fact that this action seems rather innocent, in fact, thanks to these clicks hackers can gain remote access to a microphone and a web camera connected to your computer.
Currently, Adobe is working on a patch, which closes this vulnerability in Flash. So far, as an interim measure of protection, Adobe advises users to follow the following steps: go to the Flash settings manager via the browser and select the option of Always deny.
