IBM Is Showcasing The New Analytics Capabilities
28th October 2009
IBM will be announcing a wide range of additions to the already-burgeoning portfolio of the business intelligence tool during the annual Information on Demand conference of IBM held in Las Vegas on Monday.
The new software for content analysis will be helping the users to mine the unstructured data, like a raft of customer e-mails as said by Rob Ashe, who is the general manager of business intelligence and the performance management, for instance, a restaurant chain could be determining that which of the menu items are particularly getting high praise or scorn.
IBM will also be announcing new analytics modules for tracking the sales performance, the recruitment and training of the workers, and also the supply chain management system.
Additionally, the Big Blue is planning to showcase new mining toolkit for the InfoSphere Streams, the software for the data analysis in real-time, and the Master Information Hub, which is an add-on to the server of InfoSphere Master Data Management.
Master data refers to those data objects which are common to many of the applications in one company like customer. The Information Hub will also be allowing the customers to expand the range as well as the contextual relevance of data in the master data management environments. For instance, a consumer product company can link a list of the GPS coordinates to the components it has purchased.
