The company has made a software package available on Monday which is called the SSD Toolbox that helps to monitor and also it manages the performance as well as the health of X25-M SSDs on the systems which are running Windows 7 OS. This package includes an upgrade of the firmware and software called the SSD Optimizer, which includes the diagnostic tools that help to keep the Intel SSD running and that too at high performance.

An Intel spokesman has said in an e-mail that they had been contacted by the users with some issues with upgrade of 34-nanometer Intel SSD firmware and had been investigating. He also said that they have taken all the sightings and issues very seriously and they are working towards the resolution and that they have taken down the firmware link on temporary basis while they are in the process of investigating.

The spokesman had declined on commenting on the thing that when the company would be issuing the updated firmware. Intel has declined to comment on the potential problems that the users could face, but on the company's Web site in a forum, the users have said that the firmware led to some of the driver problems which crashed the SSDs, making the systems with Windows 7 OS as unusable.
