29th October 2009
According to new survey by the ChangeWave Research, the iPhone is on its way to be the most popular smartphone in U.S. market. The iPhone market share is now standing at 30 percent, as compared to the 40 percent for its current reigning champion as seen from a research in the Motion's BlackBerry. Bringing up third is the WebOS platform of Palm with 7 percent that counts as a win situation for the company only if its precipitous market share is not falling off a cliff any longer.
The survey, which was taken over a week in the month of September, had questioned 4,255 consumers about the phones they were using. The smartphones have continues to gain ground: Almost 39 percent of the respondents were saying that they own one, as compared to the 32 percent during the same time in the last year. As we look forward, 36 percent of such of these surveyed have planned to purchase an iPhone in next 90 days, as compared to 27 percent for the BlackBerry, and an 8 percent for the Palm.
Apple also came up tops with the owners of its phones. In which 74 percent of the iPhone users are very much satisfied with the phones they use, which ranks as a genuine enthusiasm in cell phone market although to a little surprise, when given both the recent topping of the iPhone of J.D. The customer satisfaction survey of Powers and also a stellar satisfaction rating of 99 percent of the iPhone 3GS owners from the ChangeWave's own survey in the month of August.
