Kantaris 0.2.4: an alternative to Windows Media Player

The player Kantaris has been updated. The appearance and functionality of the program is pretty like the standard Windows Media Player. For playing video, Kantaris uses the client Videolan (VLC), which allows playing almost any file without installing additional codecs. Unlike VLC, Kantaris supports many audio formats, including MP3, WMA, OGG, MIDI, AC3, AAC, MP4 and FLAC. The player can play DVD and audio disks. While playing audio, the player` window shows different visualization effects.
The latest version corrects an error related to opening of the files associated with Kantaris, from Windows Media Player.
