Microsoft makes warns Chinese pirates
29th October 2008
Microsoft has developed a new plan to fight against piracy in China, reports China Tech News, with the reference to information obtained from the corporate correspondence of the Microsoft staff.
The plan is to release the two patches, which will be downloaded to a computer via the automatic updates system. They are meant encourage Chinese users of pirated versions of Windows XP and Microsoft Office to switch to licensed products.
The first patch causes a black screen when downloading pirated Windows XP versions. To return to a normal type of desktop one needs to change the background screen. But in the future, a black screen will appear every hour and get on the user`s nerves.
Users of pirated Microsoft Office are to have difficulties with the toolbar. In addition, screen of computers with pirated Microsoft products from time to time gives a pop-up message “reveling” to the user that he, in truth, works with pirated software.
