Microsoft prolongs support of Windows XP again
17th October 2008
Despite the massive advertising campaign deployed by Microsoft calling users to buy computers under Windows Vista, the convinced adherents of Windows XP do not need to hasten in making their mind.
In spite of the fact that Windows XP is no longer sold as a preinstalled operating system, when buying PC under Windows Vista Business or Windows Vista Ultimate, users receive a compact disc, allowing to “downgrade” to the version of Windows XP Professional.
It should be recalled that this disk was planned to cease being distributed on January, 1, 2009, however original equipment manufacturers managed to achieve semi-annual postponing. Nevertheless, manufacturers of computer equipment do not stop on it and now are trying to negotiate with Microsoft about another delay of the fatal date. If negotiations pass successfully, users can skip the Vista epoch and at once move to the following version of Windows 7.
