Although the company has been viewed at times as a commercial opposite of open source movement, the latest gestures of the company to the open source community are showing that the Microsoft Corporation is willing to make such moves which can assist the open source devotees to build the products that rely on the Microsoft's products. Microsoft is also working with the Tasktop Technologies and the Soyatec in some projects and technologies that are being unveiled on Tuesday.

Vijay Rajagopalan who is the principal architect of the Microsoft's interoperability strategy team has said that it is a part of the ongoing effort to make products more open. In a partnership with the Tasktop who has provided Eclipse solutions, the Microsoft Corporation is now looking to enhance Eclipse's developer experience on Windows 7 which is the newly released platform of Microsoft. Support is extended for running the Eclipse IDE on the new operating system Windows 7 and for building the applications of Windows 7. These two companies will be developing updates to Eclipse IDE in order to incorporate the features of Windows 7 and of Windows Server 2008 R2.
