Mylyn's Task Focused Interface For Eclipse Gets An Upgrade

Tasktop Technologies, which is the lead developer of Eclipse Mylyn task focused interface for Eclipse platform will offer the Monday upgrades for both Mylyn as well as the company's Tasktop Pro tool to integrate the Mylyn with the commercial application lifecycle management tools.
According to Eclipse, Mylyn reduces the information overload and also makes multi-tasking easier by making the tasks as a first class part of the Eclipse. This technology has also integrated rich and offline editing for the repositories like Bugzilla, JIRA and Trac.
Mik Kersten, the CEO at Tasktop has said that it helps the developers focus on this that they only see the code that is relevant to what they are actually doing, and also gives them a one click multitasking.
With the release of Monday's 3.3 of the open source Mylyn platform, the support is added for C and C++ development. Kersten said that the developers of C and C++ get the one click multitasking as they are working on the codes of C and C++, for example the developers when building the Symbian mobile applications. Mylyn has already supported the development in Java language.
Jeffrey Hammond, the principal analyst for application development present at the Forrester Research has said that a task focused interface which connects the Eclipse with change requests and also the software configuration management that is SCM with the change sets, which has been the domain of high end ALM tools like IBM and Borland. Mylyn creates a de facto of the standard that anyone can plug in to it, even with the low-cost open source tools like Subversion or Bugzilla.
