New Firefox provides anonymous surfing. Opera changes its logo

24th October 2008

The company Mozilla has announced postponing the release of Firefox 3.1.
The developers turned out to need extra time to finalize the mode of anonymous surfing and new interface functions. According to the new schedule, the second beta of Firefox 3.1 is planed to be released at the beginning of November. The list of improvements to be implemented in the beta includes support of HTML-tags video, additional tabs bar tools and the possibility of opening a new browser window by means of drag-and-drop of the tab to the desktop.
The new anonymous surfing mood is sure to be appreciated by users who want to destroy tracks of their activity in the global network. When working in this mode, your browser will neither save cookies elements, nor remember URL-addresses of visited sites, and also will remove another other information on your session.
The second beta will also include the tool of Clear Private Data, responsible for rapid removing personal information and any evidence of Internet activity of users.
The developers announced another curious feature called Speed Dial (though they did not promise it would be included in the coming up release). The mechanism Speed Dial provides sketch-like presentation of favourite of recently visited pages.
Opera developers revealed curious news as well. They found that the product so popular with PC users is undeservedly overlooked by adherents of the Macintosh platform. The most popular target for critics among the Mac owners became a graphic browser interface, which seems to fastidious users not really convenient.
Opera has decided to take the situation over control and hired the well-known designer Jon Hicks to develop desktop and mobile Opera interfaces. In fact, Hicks also said in his blog that he has a couple of interesting ideas on the corporate logo of Opera. For those not familiar with previous works of Hicks, it will be interesting to learn that it was he who developed the design of logos for Firefox and Thunderbird.
