Nokia ports Qt on the Symbian platform

The company Qt Software, a subsidiary company of the corporation Nokia, announced porting the product Qt under the platform S60. The platform, built on the basis of OS Symbian, enjoys a well-deserved popularity among manufacturers of smartphones.
Qt is a powerful framework for developing applications on C++, which allows you to easily move once established software under a wide range of platforms, including Windows, Mac, Linux, Windows CE, Windows Mobile and embedded Linux-devices. Manufacturers assure that Qt on S60 will successfully work with S60 3rd Edition Feature Pack 1 and later versions.
The demo version of Qt framework for S60 platform is already available for download. The release of the software will take place in the second quarter of next year.
Nokia, which has already sold nearly 80 million devices based on S60 3rd Edition, has great hopes for a promising mobile platform and expects that powerful and convenient developing tools will attracted to it software manufacturers.
