Playing Grand Theft Auto with British police
14th October 2008
Police of the British city Northampton faced a very defiant car theft.
A Renault blue van was stolen by unknown criminals directly from the guarded parking in front of a police station. The kidnappers, acting in the best traditions of the game series Grand Theft Auto, at a high speed broke the parking gate and drove out in an unknown direction.
The irony is that a vehicle with false numbers, arrested by police shortly before the incident, was full of disks with PlayStation 3 videogames.
When inspecting the car police found more than 16 000 discs, including copies of the abovementioned Grand Theft Auto and a recent shooter from Ubisoft (Brothers in Arms: Hell's Highway).
Later, police found the stolen car, however without any cargo inside.
