Quantenna announced gigabit Wi-Fi
25th October 2008
The company Quantenna Communications has presented the first in the world integrated solution for data transmission via the channels 802.11n, realized in the form of a single chipset.
The products based on the chipset will be able to establish high-speed wireless connections indoors, and can used, for example, for stream transmitting high clarity video to HD-TVs.
A set of antennas 4x4 MIMO (multiple input, multiple output) combined with proprietary technologies of cluster forming provide unprecedented high bandwidth of up to one gigabit per second. The company released two versions of the chip operating under 2.4-and 5-gigaherz frequencies range.
Copies of chipsets of the QHS family will be available for equipment manufacturers in the fourth quarter of this year. The cost of the devices is unknown so far.
