Rockstar tried to prevent filming Max Payne
31st October 2008
After Remedy Entertainment released a famous action Max Payne in 2001, the Finns in collaboration with 3D Realms decided to sell the project to professionals from Rockstar Games. In 2003 this studio released the sequel, causing mixed feelings among fans.
It turns out that at the same time, Rockstar tried to prevent screening the famous project. They did not want to provide the material needed to start the preparatory works, turned to the courts with lawsuits and, generally, did not want to collaborate with movie companies.
Somehow, the project was realized. Although the reviews for the movie were extremely negative, the producers encouraged by the profits and began to think over the sequel.
