SoftMaker releases free Office for Windows and Linux

The company SoftMaker has announced the availability of a new versions the popular set of office tools SoftMaker 2008 for Windows and Windows Mobile.
The proposed software includes a convenient text editor (supporting Office 2007) and tools for work with spreadsheets. Unfortunately, the free package does not include an application to work with presentations (SoftMaker Presentations), which can only be found in the commercial version of SoftMaker Office 2008.
Users are welcome to pay attention to a new free application Windows TextMaker Viewer 2008 for Windows, allowing you to open, view, and print text documents in most popular formats, including Word, OpenDocument, and RTF.
The developer also announced the availability of a beta version of SoftMaker office 2008 for Linux. All users eager to participate in the beta testing, are to undergo a simple registration procedure and to download the installer in the format of RPM, DEB or TGZ.
