Soldier of Fortune Payback is barred in Australia
25th October 2007
Kotaku Australia reports that the game Soldier of Fortune Payback is refused to be considered by the censors of Australian Office of Film and Literature Classification (OFLC). Local critics do not really care for cruel games, and once they saw that in SoF it is possible to shoot off enemies` face, arms and legs, they completely refused to admit the game for sale.
Activision claims that the decision of the Australian commission will not affect the release of the project in other countries, and will have even less impact on the content of the game. Thus, bloodthirsty lovers of cruel shooters can calm down. Regarding Australians, they are likely to have to be satisfied with a reduced version without unnecessary blood and violence.
