5th October 2007
In Spain, McDonald's began attracting young people, not only be the ability to dine, but also to surf the Internet or even use the game consoles. Thus, the Spanish representative office of McDonald's has signed a cooperation agreement with the companies Telefonica and Nintendo. Currently, 84 out of 375 restaurants of McDonald 's in Spain already have Wi-Fi. The use of high technologies is meant "to bring modernity and value to the restaurants".
Unfortunately, the visitors will not be able to use the Internet without restrictions, each customer will be given a card from Telefonica for 30 minutes only, though, it is quite enough for long dining with web surfing. Owners of Nintendo DS will be able to connect to the Internet without any restrictions and "will be able to download demo versions of video games and real-time mode and play with other gamers throughout the world". First, this innovations were tried in Madrid where proved their efficiency and will be further applied to the rest of country.
