StarCraft 2: three games instead of one
25th October 2008
Blizzard fans were surprised to learn that the company is going to split the coming up strategy StarCraft 2 into three parts, each of them giving an opportunity to play only for one of the existing parties.
The first project offers a campaign for the earth residents and is called Terrans: Wings of Liberty. The second one is devoted to zergs and is named Zerg: Heart of the Swarm. Respectively, the third one, Protoss: Legacy of the Void tells about the adventures of protosses. Additional parts can be described as separate addons.
It should be noted that all campaigns will be greatly different from each other. For example, the story of zergs contains the elements of RPG, while the story of protosses - those of diplomacy. As for the earth residents, their project contains several missions for the “good” aliens.
Each part is equipped with a polished plot and a sufficient quantity of the content. Multiplayer will be a necessary component for each product in the series.
The reason for separating StarCraft 2 into three parts, according to the developers, became the project`s dimension. The authors just had nothing to do but either cut off many interesting thing or sacrifice the quality. Finally, they decided to create three games instead of one.
