The Games On Net has managed to extract the official response to this particular issue; and a statement from the 2K Games have confirmed that this Australian release is still fully intact and is uncut. Just a catch though: All those gamers who already have had pre-loaded this game through the Steam will have to download all the 8GB of the data all over again.

According to Snezana Stojanovska who is the manager of 2K PR, she has said that they would like to be confirmed that Australian version of the Borderlands is un-censored in any respect. This thing applies to all of the platforms and to all distribution methods, and also includes Steam. Because of the internal mix up, a version of the game that was incorrect was made available to be preloaded on Steam for a small period of time. That version had been replaced since then.

Unlike vast majority of the consumers in United States, it looks like a reasonable part of the Australians have to deal with the monthly data caps, so the additional downloads of 8GB is very likely to upset some of the people.
