Vista Start Menu 2.6: alternative to the Start menu
24th October 2007
There are many programs that improve various possibilities of Windows. The utility Vista Start Menu is one of them. This small program is an alternative to the Start menu. The main difference is that the shortcuts for applications that are installed on the system, do not change their position and are constantly on the same spot. Shortcuts in Vista Start Menu are arranged alphabetically, and even if a user deletes one of the programs, the situation does not change for the rest, but a blank space will appear on the place of the deleted program. When a user installs a new program, this space is filled. In addition, the menu Vista Start Menu is much more visual than Start because next to the name of each program its icon is placed.
The latest version adds instant search by the name of the program, adds support of WDS 3.1 (search engine in Windows Vista), fixes error of integration with the system in Windows Vista.
