VoiceSearchBar: speech recognition at searching in Google
25th October 2008
The first version of the free program VoiceSearchBar has come out, which makes it possible to perform search in Google, using the voice. The program is installed as an addon to Internet Explorer (other browsers are not supported so far). Then a user should pronounce the key search phrase which is recognized and entered into the search box. After clicking on the Search button the site http://www.voicesearchbar.com opens in your browser displaying search results from the Google search engine.
To improve the quality of speech recognition, the authors recommend to run the training mode. After the training is held 3-4 times, the program will recognize users` speech at a very good level. So far, Voice Search Bar supports recognizing English only.
The application is free and also uses a free component of speech recognition.
