2018 Will Bring 100 Million Cores Supercomputers
24th November 2009
In order to solve many of the problems of this world, there is a need as well as a race to make the supercomputers work more efficiently and more powerfully as they can. The problems which are to be solved by the supercomputers are climate changes, such batteries for the cars which will have extra long life times, operating fusion reactors combined with plasma which reach outs to a temperature of 150 million Celsius as well as creation of the bio fuels from weeds.
The researchers are able to get three dimensional visualizations with the use of these supercomputers. This is more of like the video games. These 3D visualizations are used to give even finer details by running many of the what-if scenarios which are usually endless. But as much big they are currently, they are still not considered that big as they are supposed to be. This is also the main topic for approximately 11,000 of the people who are gathering for the 22nd annual conference of supercomputing in Poland, Ore. They are talking about the exascale system in that gathering.
No matter how amazing these supercomputers have become today, they are still primitive and their designs take up a lot of space, power and money also.
