Acer has reported its best quarterly revenue ever on Friday, and has forecasted to have even better in the times ahead. These results come after string of the successes for the company and highlights on how far it came in a short period of time. Acer has been named the second-largest PC vendor of the world by market researchers Gartner and IDC after it had shipped 2 million of more computers than the Dell Inc. during the third quarter. Gianfranco Lanci who is the Italian CEO and the President of Acer, was also awarded an Economic Medal of honor by the government of Taiwan for his part in building up this Taiwanese company to a global name.
The revenue of Acer in the third quarter soared to NT$167.6 billion or $5.2 billion, which is a historical high and was up 5.3 percent from its revenue of the previous year. The net profit has increased 14 percent to an amount of NT$3.47 billion or $107.8 million. This company would be doing even better as it had not been for the shortages of some of the components as said by Acer executives.
