Agile Development Security Guidelines Released
17th November 2009
Microsoft has given some guidelines to the developers as well as for the ones who get benefits from this process of the Agile code development about building the online apps.
These guidelines from Agile also uses the principles and rules from security development lifecycle i.e. SDL of Microsoft to Agile. The SDL is similar term for the development model which is usually very much used by the web based applications, and is also launched under short deadlines, called sprints.
Microsoft Corp. used this SDL with the pledge of the company in the year 2002 in order to build a more secure and safe code after many of the worms, which were high profile, and many of the other dangerous software which were risky and malicious for the customers.
Bryan Sullivan who is the Microsoft`s security program manager has said that the original SDL is not a fit in the Agile process. Agile has a different approach as it gives a limited and certain period of time for developing certain characteristics, and after that time the application would be released at once in order to get the feedback of the customers. It was mainly designed for such products as Windows operating system in the start i.e. the ones being non-iterative in nature.
