Amazon has announced that the Elastic Compute Cloud of Amazon which is commonly known as EC2 offers its customers a wide range of virtual server configurations, whose prices range from 10 cents up to $1 for an hour. But company is lowering the prices on all Amazon EC2 that are On Demand compute instances, and is effective from Nov. 1. The charges for the Linux based instances will drop to 15 percent and a small Linux instance will cost now just for 8.5 cents for an hour as compared to the previous price of 10 cents for a single hour.

The Windows based instances will be getting smaller price cut. Like a small Windows instance, which cost 12.5 cents for an hour will be costing 12 cents per hour that starts from Nov. 1. A large instance of Windows that costs $1 per hour will be getting a price cut to 96 cents. When announcing this price cut on the standard sized virtual servers, Amazon has said that it will offer one new set of virtual servers which will have high memory and offers double and quadruple memory over the largest option of the previous time. The prices will be ranging from $1.20 to $2.88 for one hour.
