An Open Source Group Backed By Microsoft Has Outlined The Project Guidelines

Likening the organizational plan to one museum that features different galleries of interest, CodePlex Foundation which is a Microsoft-backed foundation for the open source projects is talking up their project submission guidelines that were released last week.
The guidelines include the allowing of commercial sponsorship of the project galleries, with its foundation focuses on being commercial friendly.
Sam Ramji, the president of foundation board of directors has said that they will be operating much like this that how one museum has galleries. The foundation also has its plans to start accepting the projects during this month and has had some of the project submissions already.
The other guidelines also include the requirement that each of the projects should have one mentor and one strong project team. The projects must also use the license of being open source friendly. The best practices of the project will also be maintained by central foundation and new projects can even be accepted if they are having some overlapping functionality with some other project. This foundation will be providing mechanisms for the code security, Ramji has said that the core mechanism of this foundation is actually that they exist to provide one legal framework for thye open source projects like the other open source foundations and this is with intent for making it easy for the corporations to contribute in these open source projects.
