Apple Making Smaller Iphone For Verizon
17th November 2009
The analyst report, which was telling about the un-named makers of the handsets in Taiwan, has said that Apple Inc. is going to launch its smaller world mode of iPhone. This is expected to be out during the next year. This smaller iPhone will be made for the Verizon wireless, which will sell it during the third quarter of the year 2010.
According to the OTR global report and the Apple insider, the smaller iPhone will use hybrid chip. This chip would be manufactured from Qualcomm who will be making it compatible with the 3G networks of GSM and UMTS. Such networks include AT&T, which is known as the exclusive carrier of iPhone in the United States. Also this smaller iPhone will be compatible with the networks of CDMA2000, which includes Verizon present in the United States.
The un-named source of OTR have also said that the devices for Apple will be built by the Asustek subsidiary pegatron and not by Hon Hai. Hon Hai is the iPhone device maker at present.
An OTR official has refused to comment on the report of OTR as according to him it was proprietary for clients. We could not reach Apple for any of the comments and also the spokesman at Verizon has said that their comments are not rumor based or any speculations.
