Apple Stops Psystar Clones Of Mac
30th November 2009
A permanent injunction is what has been asked by Apple against Psystar, which is a clone maker of Apple`s Mac. With this order, the company Psystar will no longer be allowed to sell the knock offs of Mac. These knock offs have already been said to violate the copyright rules of Apple.
The court papers, which have been filed in San Francisco, have the demands of Apple to the District court judge of U.S named William Alsup, to file permanent injunction against Psystar when the companies are waiting for the trial on the copyright infringement lawsuit of Apple.
While looking at the injunction, it had been argued by Apple that Psystar was not asked to stop but that company would cause much of the trouble for Apple Inc. The loss and harm for Apple is in terms of brand, business and the goodwill of the company. The harm is also said to be irreparable by Apple. It was also claimed by Apple that the company owes an amount of $2.1 million from Psystar and also the fees for the attorney as well as some other related costs.
A summary judgment was given to Apple during the current month, about Psystar violating the copyright of Apple for its Mac operating system. Psystar was found to modify the Mac OS in such a way that it would be able to work on third party hardware, which then was sold on less price.
