Beware Of Downloading The Fake Google Chrome OS
1st November 2009
Google has recently announced that they are developing their own operating system which is based around Chrome web browser, which is named appropriately enough as Chrome OS. For past weeks there had been some rumors circulating about one leaked version that is available for download. Do not believe this hype. This leaked version is a fake, which is not at all related to Google.
Even some trusted sources like Gizmodo have perpetuated this myth that the Chrome is available. It is very tough when there is a lot of pressure for publishing a breaking news story first. Gizmodo has recently reported a story of the alleged screen shots of the Chrome operating system, but has later updated this story to say that it was verified to be a fake.
There are a number of sites and individuals who are now propagating this story as a false rumor. A quick scan of the Twitter or quick search over the Web would lead to all sorts of reputable sources which are talking about the availability of beta version of Chrome OS. Most of this excitement can be traced back to Gizmodo though. It is one trusted source of the breaking tech news and does not take much time for the announcement on Gizmodo go viral on the Twitter and other blog sites.
