Droid Has Joined The Google Phone Army In The War Of Smart Phones

The Motorola Droid smart phone has gone on sale this Friday, by joining the growing ranks of the smart phones on open source operating systems backed by the Google Inc.
With the Droid that will be working on the network of Verizon telecom, Motorola is now taking on the mobile devide powerhouses like Apple, Nokia and the Research in Motion.
An analyst Rob Enderle of the Enderle Group in Silicon Valley has said that the people are gravitating to the Android phones as they are very different and trendy. Droid might be the new in phone. Taiwan based HTC has brought first Android phone to the market late during the last year.
Eric Schmidt, the Google chief executive, has recently proclaimed that this smart phone market was on cusp of the explosion of the Android devices.
The market tracking firm Gartner has agreed and predicts that there would be at least 40 of the new models of the Android phones in a year, and the thing that they will also be second place mobile platform by end of the year 2012.
The reports have surfaced that the Verizon is poised for adding an HTC Android phone to the stable.
Gartner analyst Van Baker has told AFP that in few years Android would be second of the most popular smart phones by running neck and neck with the Apple Inc.
