ER/Studio 8.0: help to architects and developers of data models

The company Embarcadero Technologies announced releasing a new version of its package for modeling data with a visual presentation of information sources and changes made. The project is called ER / Studio 8.0. The new feature Visual Data Lineage, for the first time implemented in the package of ER/Studio, is meant to assist developers in addressing a variety of tasks in the course of integration data in the enterprise.
The package of ER/Studio 8.0 offers a model approach to tracking the movement of data in the enterprise from the source to the destination station. The feature of Visual Data Lineage offers developers visual representation of data flows and any changes, thus, providing automation of data processing and providing more complete metadata.
Among other features of the package there is integration with the catalogues of LDAP and Active Directory to manage users` access to the repository Embarcadero.
The possibility of using submodels allows you to split one large model by functional or substantive grounds. In addition, the new version of Embarcadero ER/Studio offers enhanced support of new DBMS, such as Microsoft SQL Server 2008 and Sybase IQ 12.5.
The cost of the package is $3500 for each a work station, but customers can buy cheaper solutions, oriented to concrete DBMS platforms.
