Former CEO Of Yousendit Is Charged In The Denial Of Service Attack On The Firm

Khalid Shaikh who is the former CEO of YouSendIt, is indicted by a grand jury on the four counts of mail fraud after an allegedly launching the four DoS attacks against the servers of the company, as said by the U.S. Department of Justice.
The DOJ has said in one press release that Shaikh has allegedly used the software program of ApacheBench for launching the DoS attacks against YouSendIt's servers during December 2008 and June.
Shaikh has co-founded YouSendIt in the year of 2004 in January. He has served there as the CEO of the YouSendIt and later as the CTO until November 2006. YouSendIt provides services for sending and also receiving large and heavy files over the Web. Each of these DOS attacks have temporarily stopped the servers from handling the legitimate network traffic and also stopped the customers of YouSendIt from using the services of the company as said by DOJ.
Maximum penalty for each count of the mail fraud is five years inside the prison, three years of probation period, and also a fine of an amount of $250,000, plus the restitution if it is appropriate. However, any sentence following the conviction has to be imposed by the court after considering the U.S. Sentencing Guidelines and also the federal statute that governs the imposition of sentence, 18 U.S.C. § 3553.
