HTML 5 Has Progressed Despite Of The Challenges

The development of HTML version 5, which is a highly touted upgrade for the language of the Web, though progressing but is still facing some obstacles and includes lack of the standard video codec as said by an official of World Wide Web Consortium in one gathering which was held on Tuesday.
Featuring the video capabilities and the support for offline applications and Scalable Vector Graphics (SVG) specification, HTML version 5 is all set to move towards a candidate recommendation phase by the end of the year 2010. That particular phase would be lasting two years before the final adoption could occur as said by Philippe Le Hegaret, who is a domain leader at W3C interaction, in a press briefing at the W3C Technical Plenary and Advisory Committee meeting which was held in Santa Clara, Calif. The W3C officials have also provided the updates on the efforts in mobile widget and the IPv6 adoption spaces.
Le Hegaret has said that HTML 5 is presenting the next generation for being able to have and interaction or doing more with the Web applications. HTML 5 would also be supported within the browsers and also by the application developers. He also said that the challenges include a lack of video codec in HTML 5 and the underlying issue is to find a video format which is royalty-free. He added that till now they have not been able to provide a video format which satisfies everyone.
