The latest suit piggybacks on the lawsuit filed by the biggest rival of Intel, AMD, in the U.S. District Court in the year 2005, and has expected to go to the trial during this coming spring. But the industry analysts are saying that if FTC launches its own legal attack against the Intel Inc., it would be a whole new ball game for this chip company. Dan Olds, who is the principal analyst in The Gabriel Consulting Group has said that it would not be surprising for him to see FTC jumping into the fight with the antitrust action of its own against Intel, if and only if that they do not look like they had been lazy in face of the actions from European Union and the New York now.
