Linux Developer In Visual Studio
17th November 2009
As the product was introduced, Novell would be allowing its developers to use the visual studio platform of Microsoft. This would use Mono tools on Visual studio for supporting cross platform apps. The software development platform would be enabled for the purpose of building as well as debugging the .Net apps in order to deploy them on the platforms of Linux and any non-Windows platform.
The Mono tools of Novell, for the Visual studio, help the .Net developers to use the Visual studio to build up the cross platform apps. It is also usable for putting the .Net applications on Unix and Mac operating systems. This product behaves as an add-in module for Visual Studio. It also prevents Novell Mono runtime which helps for running the .Net application on many non-Windows platforms. Earlier in the year, there was released a preview of the Mono tools for Visual Studio for some specific number of developers.
Novell`s vice president of the developer platform and also the head of this Mono project, Miguel de Icaza, has said that what we have been working on is actually a plug in for Visual Studio. This plug in makes the process of supporting other platforms like Linux, Mac OS and Unix easier from the IDE of Microsoft.
