Susan Bradley who is the chief technology officer with Tamiyasu, Smith, Horn and Braun has said that this is patch month which will not die. She also added that the Communicator issue was big one to miss because Microsoft Corporation is usually very careful about testing the security updates with their own products.

A network systems administrator with Public Health Institute in Sacramento, Calif., named Scott Turner has noticed this bug immediately after installing the updates of Microsoft. He further said that they have deployed this patch when he came the next day and nobody was able to connect to the Communicator.

According to one support article on the web site of Microsoft, the updates of MS09-056 disables many of the services that the Communications Server needed in order to operate correctly. This bug affects the Live Communications Server 2005, the Office Communications Server 2007, and also the evaluation versions of the Office Communicator 2007.

Microsoft released one work-around for this problem, but Turner has not yet been able for trying this out. He had to first disable the MS09-056 update in meantime in order to get the Communicator users of the company get up and running.
