Missing Things In View 4 Of VMware
22nd November 2009
Some days back, VMware has released its latest virtual desktop application called View 4. With this application the company has promised to provide two features, which is a full desktop performance at the price tag of a desktop.
This application needs great amount of data to be streamed continuously from the server side to the client one. Also the costs of building up a virtual desktop app have gone far away than the potential saving which were done in the IT labor as well as the security costs. These costs also include for building storages, servers, thin clients, network bandwidth as well as the software licenses.
According to Rick Jackson who is VMware`s chief marketing officer that this is considered to be a really a big change in View 4. He has also said while talking about the efficiency of View 4 that some of the applications run more fast when done virtually as compared to being loaded from any of the local hard drive. He further stated that there has been a neutralization of the acquisition cost barrier and it was not easy for him to grasp that how any CIO that has huge desktop population would not notice this thing.
There are certain things which the View 4 is missing and they are bandwidth, lack of the local virtualization, and the complete support of Windows 7.
