Mobile Operators And The Vendors Have Joined Forces On LTE Voice Services
11th November 2009
One group of 12 mobile operators and also the vendors have said on Wednesday that they all have agreed on one way for offering the SMS and also the voice services on Long Term Evolution (LTE), which is the next generation mobile network technology.
The goal of this initiative, called the One Voice, is actually for ensuring the widespread adoption of the LTE and for avoiding the fragmentation on the technical issues as according to one statement.
For the mobile subscribers this agreement improves the chances of the phones working in many different parts of the world. Voice is also important for having unresolved and expecting the operators for moving forward with LTE as said by Richard Webb who is the directing analyst at the market research company Infonetics.
Webb has said that the voice is still where the most of money comes from for the operators. This agreement is actually what that was needed to happen. AT&T, TeliaSonera, Verizon Wireless, Alcatel-Lucent, Ericsson, Nokia Siemens Networks, Nokia, Vodafone, Orange, Telefónica, Samsung Electronics and Sony Ericsson all are being involved in this agreement. The list of all of the participants of this agreement is quite impressive, but, for instance, the Chinese infrastructure, the handset and modem vendor Huawei is missing from the list.
