Mozilla` Firefox Crash Bug Got The Fix
15th November 2009
The programmers had introduced a crash bug for which Mozilla gave out newer version of its browser to fix that up. This had happened almost a week after Firefox had introduced its update. The company has said in the release notes which were given by the update that the versions 3.5.5 of Firefox can only fix a small number of the stability issues. It also does not patch up any of the security vulnerabilities.
The main problem for this version of Mozilla was that it has caused crashing problem for the windows operating system. Joe Drew who is a developer of Mozilla has said that there has been some crashing in the GIF decoders which had been seeing for quite some time. He has said this on the bug checking as well as the change tracking system of the company i.e. Bugzilla. It was also seen on Bugzilla that the windows version was crashing and no other ones had observed any due to Firefox 3.5.4.
Jeff Mulzelaar, who is another programmer for Firefox, has said that this problem is mainly done by the bug 514776. The main purpose of this is actually to remove those checks which are done for the null mImageFrame. Also in the Mac version, it fixes the stability bug, which causes some more problems in the Mac editions too.
