Power Transfer To People By The Government
30th November 2009
The rolling out of e-petitions by the government of UK, could be very helpful in providing right and voice to the people to have their say in the democratic process. It was heard in a conference that the legislation, which will help in making e-petition a compulsion, for all the councils of UK are going to be enforced in April, 2010.
According to Tom Steinberg, the web guru, this step can result in the scheme of national e-petition and will also motivate Westminster to take action on increasing the power of people. This petition will help the people, in raising their voices in the issues of the government and will also provide them with a fair chance of their say in the political processes.
This topic was the most important issue of discussion of the debate, which was held at the Future Democracy conference, organized in London. The local government and Department of Communities can roll out the scheme of e-petition.
The recent debate has come up with a plan, which will ensure that the e-petition does not only live on the websites of the council. Similarly, this legislation will put in utmost efforts to keep up the issue of e-petition alive so that the people may not loss their power.
