Startup Has Offered The Energy Saving Software For Datacenter
11th November 2009
The datacenter startup is now exiting the stealth mode with its technology which has reduced the power and cooling costs with analyzing this energy consumption of IT equipment and other applications too.
The officials at the Viridity Software, whose name means the greenness, have argued that the power monitoring products of today are focusing only on physical infrastructure, by giving insight into how the power is delivered to these data center but nothing about its insight in this thing that why it is being consumed so.
The software of Viridity has mapped the connections between the applications and their specific IT equipment, by also analyzing their relative importance for the businesses of each application. Then it also provides the step by step recommendations for eliminating the power and cooling inefficiencies, which simulates the potential impact of the new technology deployments and also enables their chargeback.
David Hill, an analyst with Mesabi Group has said that they are taking an application based view and it is more sophisticated, more elegant as compared to the current power monitoring products. It is actually the way it should have been done. He also said that the analysis tools, which look solely at power usage of the servers and other infrastructure, are not necessarily helpful in the control of the energy use as they are not analyzing the amount of the power one business needs in order to operate effectively.
