The Ares Webos Tool Of Palm Has Allowed Easy App Dev
12th November 2009
Palm will be introducing its Web based development environment for the WebOS applications, and is called the Ares, till the end of the current year.
Ares has got the first public demonstration at Open Mobile Summit conference which was held in San Francisco. It has been designed for making it easy for the developers to pull many of the components together in JavaScript for building the applications for Palm Pre and Pixi, which are the two handsets running the Palm's WebOS.
The storied company of mobile devices is now up against the tough competition for the developers against Apple`s iPhone, Google's Android, Research in Motion`s BlackBerry, and many other mobile platforms. It has released its WebOS SDK to one selected group in the month of April and also to the public during July. The company has also said that the SDK had been downloaded tens or thousands of times.
Ares will be giving the developers one other way for writing the WebOS applications and will be allowing fast development through an interface of drag and drop as said by Palm. It has been designed for helping the Web developers to make the leap for becoming the mobile developers as said by Michael Abbott, who is the senior vice president of the application software and the services at Palm.
